Just because Chrysler produced underpowered Jeeps for three decades
doesn't mean they have to stay that way! Someone bought into that
idea without taking any shortcuts and stuffed a 350 CID Chevrolet
Small Block V8 under the clamshell hood of this 89 Wrangler YJ and
really brought it to life. As if a stock 350 wouldn't boast enough
power, they upgraded it with headers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake
manifold, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, and a slightly aggressive
Camshaft. New true dual exhaust rumbles through 2 chamber mufflers
and is ran out behind the rear tires. A Turbo 350 3 speed automatic
transmission backs the V8 with assurance and smooth shifts.
Cosmetically, it's set up to be a bit of a sleeper. The faded white
paint and Wrangler graphics would never let anyone guess that
thousands have been invested into the powertrain. Steel D-Hole
wheels with 31x10.50 tires provide plenty of grip and stability
when wheeling without requiring some wild axle and gear set combo.
