Vehicle Description
This custom 1965 Ford Mustang Pro-Touring convertible is powered by
an original A-code 289ci 4V engine, with oversize valves in
custom-ported and polished factory cylinder heads, along with a
Ford street-racing camshaft and double-timing chain and gearset
with 10.5:1 pistons. This engine has been blueprinted and balanced
and features Holley 750 double-pumper and Carter mechanical pump.
It's equipped with a dual Flowmaster exhaust and 4-inch custom
tailpipes. The transmission is a completely renewed C4 automatic
with Red Devil clutches and seals and a performance-valve body, and
the shift timing has been tuned. This car features a posi-traction
9-inch rear end with 3.70 gears. The custom full frame is by
Chassis Engineering and has larger rear wheel housings that added
2.5 inches more in each rear wheel well. It's been outfitted with
Air Ride Technologies 4-link and Level 3 ShockWaves air suspension,
combined with a Global West negative-roll front suspension, Vintage
Air Gen-IV SureFit system, Flaming River stainless-steel tilt
steering column, 19:1 quick-ratio power steering gear and complete
Moog steering system linkage. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood
power 4-wheel disc brakes. All chrome parts are new or have been
rechromed. It rides on American Racing Torq Thrust wheels on
BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires and has a custom 4-point roll bar. This
1965 Mustang convertible Resto-Mod has been restored and finished
in a tri-color LeMans Blue (PPG basecoat/clearcoat) with a white
leather Pony interior, dark blue carpeting and a factory Mustang
center console. This car is equipped with a new Haartz Pinpoint
Stayfast vinyl convertible top with all-new hydraulics and electric
pump. The interior features classic retro sound by Luna,
soundproofing by FatMat Sound Control and a custom-finished trunk
in fine blue velour.
