The Jaguar E-Type Series III V-12 is a classic luxury British
roadster known for its powerful engine and sleek design. It was the
flagship model of Jaguar's E-Type lineup and is a sought-after
collector's item for enthusiasts who appreciate its timeless design
and exceptional performance. This 1974 3-owner Jaguar E-Type
roadster is in virtually original condition and is a 'Southern'
classic, residing only in the states of Georgia and North Carolina.
(A Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate is provided.) The factory
Greensand exterior was refinished one time in the 1990's and is now
in fair condition, showing some age. Accents include beautiful 15"
chrome knock-off wire wheels that mount virtually new Pirelli
performance radials, tri-bar headlights and Euro-style retro-fitted
chrome bumpers. A new manual Mohair soft-top is in excellent
condition. The interior of the E-Type is luxurious with premium
materials and comfortable seating for a truly refined driving
experience. The original owner upgraded the factory upholstery with
handsome Cinnamon leather and a Nardi wood-trimmed wheel. This
E-Type is equipped with A/C (needs TLC), new carpeting and a
premium Kenwood AM/FM/CD-changer stereo system. There is a full
complement of working factory gauges including a tachometer and
160mph speedometer
The heart of this Jaguar is a numbers matching SOHC 5.3L V-12
engine, the first mass-produced V-12 to be fitted into a production
car. The all-aluminum engine has seven main bearings and a forged
steel three-plane crank. Output is a silky-smooth 272bhp/304lb-ft.
Fuel is provided by four single-barrel Zenith-Stromberg carburetors
and spark comes from a Lucas OPUS electronic ignition. Exhaust is
routed through a stainless steel system w/new chrome outlets and
the factory smog equipment has been deleted. A comprehensive
compression test was recently performed with a range of 118-121lbs
over the 12-cylinders. Torque is delivered through a
numbers-matching Borg warner three-speed automatic gearbox that
shifts seamlessly and the differential is a HD Salisbury hypoid
Powr-Lok limited-slip unit w/3.31:1 gearing. The chassis is
equipped with power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes
w/Kevlar pads and independent suspension. The current owner has
performed careful ongoing maintenance on the engine, transmission,
suspension and brake components (owner-documentation furnished).
Additional items provided with the car include an Owner's Manual,
factory tool kit, jack w/bag, lead knock-off hammer, brass
knock-off removal tool and original factory bumpers. This Jaguar
E-Type V-12 is certainly a testament to Jaguar's commitment to
craftsmanship and innovation, a standout model in the brand's
storied history. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
