Higher Ground Rovers is pleased to offer this 1992, Land Rover defender 110. We just completed a complete restoration starting with a new Marsland galvanized chassis and restoring up from there.
This 110 is equipped with a 200 TDI, mated with LT-77 five speed manual transmission. This is truly an exceptional build, with no detail left Overlooked.
The Exterior
We finished this 110 in Land Rover Bonatti Grey. The color is just outstanding and has an amazing look in different types of light. All body panels with the exception of the tub sides are new, including all 5 doors and a galvanized bulkhead. We equipped this Defender with Masai Panoramic windows, and all door glass and windscreen are new as well. For the ultimate safety, with added a New Safety Devices Exterior roll cage. Up front is a new bumper with LED Fog lamps and the rear has a NAS style step. To add to the upgrades, we swapped out all the lights for LEDs for safety and the best visibility. The exterior is finished off with a Puma bonnet, 5 new wheels from Lucari Solutions, and Fire and Ice side steps.
The Suspension
This Defender drives beautifully aided by new Land Rover springs and Bilstein Shocks all around. Additionally, we replaced many of the bushings as they did not meet our standards or expectations.
The Interior
A Ministry of Defender Puma Dash with leather accents is fantastic upgrade from the stock Rover dash. We upgraded the heating system to a combined air-conditioning/heater unit. This is a much more efficient system then the stock model, as it looks to change the cabin air verses always attempting to change outside air. The front and middle row captain chairs offer an outstanding look and cubby boxes made by Lucari. The front seats are equipped with heaters as well. Under the new carpet and headliner, Dynamat sound deadening had been installed throughout the truck. Within the dash sits a modern entertainment system by Sony, which incorporates Apple CarPlay and a backup camera. Beautiful headliner side panels made by Lucari Solutions complete the interior. Added sunlight is made possible by the sunroof.
The Mechanical
We stripped this 200 TDI and installed a new head gasket installed. From there we rebuilt the top of the engine. We installed a new injector pump and have rebuilt all of the fuel injectors as well. As Rovers are prone to leak, we completely resealed the engine with all new gaskets and hoses. In addition to new fuel lines, we installed a new fuel pump. We upgraded the exhaust to a stainless steel for improved operation and longevity. The entire braking system is new; brake master cylinder, stainless steel brake lines, converted the rear drums to a caliper set up. All cooling hoses are new as well as a new radiator. The entire steering system is new as truck was converted from right hand drive to left. The transmission, a LT-77 5 speed, shifts smoothly with a new LOF clutch installed. In addition, the clutch master, slave cylinder and piping all new.
The Rest
I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability. This 110 is available for viewing, and I encourage any serious buyer to perform a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection). There are several reputable shops in the area for you to choose from. Please reach out with any and all questions.
