Vehicle Description
If Chevrolet's Corvair proved not to be the stake through the heart
of Volkswagen that the GM brass hoped it would be, you couldn't
blame the division for lack of effort. Chevrolet spun out the
lineup in every direction it could think of, offering not only
coupes, sedans, convertibles, and station wagons, but also a line
of forward-control light trucks that included two pickups, the
Loadside and the Rampside, to take on their counterparts from
Wolfsburg. - Hemmings
This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside is finished in Ivory with a
nine-inch-wide painted blue metallic band over beige tweed interior
seating with grey carpets. This Rampside features a 164 cubic inch
motor powered by dual single barrel Rochester carburetors and is
mated to a 2-speed Powerglide transmission.
The Corvair truck is equipped with unassisted steering, the brakes
have been upgraded with front disc brakes and factory rear drum
brakes.
Spending many years in Arizona is the only explanation for why the
body panels and solid underside of this vehicle are void of rot.
The previous owner, a Corvair enthusiast and engineer, designed a
one-off air-conditioning system for this vehicle. (currently
inoperable but appears to need only minor service) This Rampside
also features an AM/FM stereo and upgraded fifteen-inch tires.
Showing just 92,141 miles and with just 851 Corvair 95 Rampsides
produced for 1964, now is your chance to own a unique but
functional classic truck.
