Intro
This is an all original 1986 Alpina B10/3.5 in Diamond Schwartz Metallic over an Alpina grey-striped fabric interior. It was sold new in Japan in 1986 and imported into the U.S. in December 2022. It has an early wide silver deco set (stripe kit) and all the other options installed by Alpina on this model, including an extra digital gauge cluster. The engine puts out 261 hp. It is one of only 44 built (and 1 of 22 delivered new to Japan); the dash plaque number is 018 (so it’s the 18th B10 built by Alpina); it’s had only 3 owners since new, and comes with service records from Japan. The seller will provide the service records of work done on the since it arrived in the US. It has only 42,200 original miles(!) (67,375 km), so it's in like-new, totally original condition. It has a clear title (Vermont registration) and is currently in southern California.
Exterior
The exterior of this Alpina B10 is painted Diamond Schwartz Metallic, and has silver Alpina stripes on the sides, an Alpina aerodynamic front air dam and a rear trunk spoiler. It also has a power sunroof. This particular Alpina is based on the BMW E28 5-series. It has upgraded suspension and brake components and the signature 16” staggered-width (7 & 8”) Alpina wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires 205/55 VR 16 front and 225/50 VR 16 rear.
Interior
The interior features Recaro front seats covered in grey Alpina striped fabric and an Alpina leather-covered steering wheel & shift handle. The dash and upper door panels are free of cracks. The B10 features air conditioning, power windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a working digital gauge cluster specific to this Alpina model. The dash clock, gauges, and cluster lights also function as they should.
Mechanicals
This car is powered by a tuned version of the M30 3.5 liter inline-six paired to an automatic transmission, which it came with originally from Alpina. The seller will change this to a manual transmission for an additional charge, if the buyer prefers a manual. The engine puts out 261 hp with factory acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 sec. In preparation for the sale this car was inspected end-to-end by a BMW specialist and any worn parts were replaced and all fluids were changed.
Summary
This is an excellent-condition, all-original 1986 Alpina B10/3.5, 1 of only 44 built, that has covered just 42,200 miles since new, and is in the US already. It has completed a thorough inspection and includes all available service records.
