true modern-day supercar. Welcome updates for the 2012 GT500
included the addition of three driver-selectable steering modes.
Beginning with Comfort, offering lighter effort and less road feel,
the GT500 driver also has Sport mode available, delivering the most
steering feel with the most effort required, while Normal provides
a balance of the two extremes. Another new-for-2012 GT500 feature
is the interior upgrade kit including Boss 302-specification Recaro
bucket seats with GT500-specific leather upholstery.
Performance-the reason for the GT500's existence-is thrilling,
including magazine-reported 0-60 MPH acceleration in a
traction-limited 4.1 seconds and the quarter mile requiring just
12.4 seconds at 115.8 MPH. Stopping from 60 MPH is accomplished in
just 103 feet and roadholding is measured at 1.01 G on the skidpad.
