Engine & Drivetrain
These Corvettes always had performance under the hood and ours has
a rebuilt and modified small block Chevrolet engine backed by the
4-speed manual transmission.
From the minute you open the hood and see restored small block with
its orange painted engine block, chrome Moroso valve covers,
aluminum intake, Holley performance carb, chrome open air cleaner,
factory cast iron Rams Head exhaust manifolds, factory chrome
shielded distributor, power steering and brakes, with all sitting
in a correctly restored engine compartment and chassis with all the
right parts, you will know that this Corvette was built right and
meant to run.
Interior
This restored Sting Ray offers a completely luxurious driving
environment. The interior features new bright blue trim on the
individual twin bucket seats that have a factory bolster-like
design for more seating comfort and better lateral support, blue
carpet and matching door panels, and dual sun visors.
The factory dash also has the controls for the heater and defroster
along with the electrical clock, radio controls and vent controls,
matched speedometer and tachometer that are the primary instruments
in the Sting Ray with an electrical fuel gauge with a head-light
switch, cigarette lighter, head-lamp retractor switch, hood
release, great factory Corvette polished and wood steering wheel,
and ignition switch that complete the instrument panel.
The center console houses the 4-speed shifter with the radio in
place there too.
Exterior
The bright blue paint job on our 1966 Sting Ray is beautiful as it
floes over the hood and louvers behind the front wheel side scoops
that help increase air flow through the engine compartment, giving
it both an aggressive and sophisticated look.
All the trim, bumpers, taillights, door handles, the flip-up gas
cap, and the blue painted hard top and black convertible top is in
as-new condition as well as the cast aluminum knock-off type wheels
and spinner caps with the white sidewall tires which recreate the
original look.
Conclusion
More than ever, the restored 1966 Corvette Roadster we have here at
Adventure Classics is luxurious transportation for two, backed by
the potent small block V8 engine and 4-speed transmission that will
give you a different kind of driving experience than maybe you ever
had.
It looks super with the paint, knockoff wheels and side-pipes, let
alone the drop-top or with the hardtop.
