Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this one-owner 1984 Buick
Regal T-Type turbo for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. T-Type
was Buick's trim level designation for the sportier variants of
various model lines. The Buick Regal T-Type and the Buick Regal
Grand National are the same cars, except the Grand National was
only offered in all black. While Grand Nationals are on the rise in
value/collectability, the twin brother T-Type has fallen under the
radar, even though they are mechanically identical. They are built
on the same platform and have the same engine. The only difference
is cosmetics.
Even if this is your first look at a Buick Regal, you're sure to
notice one major reason for its popularity, its crisp design. The
sleek aerodynamic styling of the Regal join's luxury inside the
cabin and advanced technology in 1984 under the hood.
The Regal's sumptuous interior encourages you to settle in and
relax. They were designed for comfort, luxury, and judging by
appearances, they were monumentally successful. Inside the cabin,
this Regal offers cloth seats with a folding middle armrest. For
it's time, this baby was fully loaded. It has cold A/C (just
serviced), and an upgraded AM/FM/CD player with a four-speaker
system. To further keep you in touch with the performance, there's
a standard turbo boost gauge and LED tachometer.
The exterior is in great shape for being 40 years old. There are a
few paint chips, but those could easily be fixed. The Buick is
finished in Light French Blue Metallic (27L) and it was fully
repainted within the last 15 years. The body is all-original and is
rust free with clean and original chrome bumpers. The front bumper
fillers do need to be repaired.
The "big news" back in 1984 was under the hood. With the start of
the engine, you can hear the growl of the turbocharged powerplant.
The 3.8-liter turbo V6 was one of the most advanced production
engines available. Turbo charging boosts horsepower an incredible
81% over the normally aspirated version of the 3.8-liter V6, but an
impressive 200hp. The turbo 3.8 is fed by sequential port fuel
injection, developed exclusively for Buick. The Buick has power
steering, automatic transmission with overdrive and a 3.42:1
performance axle.
