Who doesn't love a dune buggy? Dune Buggies were pioneered in
Southern California. While it's hard to believe today, you could
once cruise the beaches in your car. People tried all sorts of
configurations for better traction and racing on the sand. One of
the most successful was a fiberglass body built on a Volkswagen
beetle pan. With the engine located over the rear wheels, and the
much lighter fiberglass body, the dune buggy was an instant
hit.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this "Dune Buggy" that is built
on a 1968 Volkswagen chassis and is believed to be a Desert Fox
body. The overall condition is stunning and it is in excellent
condition. This isn't your backyard built Dune Buggy using some
left over parts, it is a professional build from top to bottom. The
4cylinder engine has been dressed up with chrome and shows very
well. The buggy also has 4 wheel disc brakes. This Dune Buggy is
titled as a 1968 Volkswagen.
