BROCHUREAWESOME ALL-AROUND PERFORMERBased on the Australian-built
VF Commodore SS-V Redline sedan, the Chevrolet SS filled the vacuum
left behind by the Holden-based Pontiac G8 after the Pontiac brand
was discontinued after 2010. First offered for the 2014 model year
in late 2013, the SS debuted appropriately at the February 2013
Daytona Beach Speed Weeks. Powering the SS was GM's potent
6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine, factory-rated at 415 horsepower and 415
lbft of peak torque. Only a six-speed automatic transmission with
paddle shifters was initially available, with a 6-speed manual
version offered on subsequent models. Top speed was
governor-limited to a breathtaking 160 mph. According to published
road tests, the 2014 Chevrolet SS accelerated 0-60 mph in 4.5
seconds and covered the quarter mile in a supercar-worthy 12.9
seconds at 111 mph. The SS featured a stiffened chassis, based on
the VF Commodore, for improved ride and handling with reduced
weight. Crash performance was also improved, and the electrical
system was totally updated, allowing use of today's desirable
driver aids. Suspension and braking systems were engineered to
match the stunning performance potential of the SS. While the SS
was a highly desirable high-performance sedan, production ended in
late 2017 when Australia's venerable Holden marque ceased
production that October. Finished in visually striking Regal
Peacock Green Metallic paint of a Jet Black leather interior, this
2015 Chevrolet SS is a collector-grade example of these super
sedans with just 14,400 miles accumulated at the time of writing.
The high-performance LS3 V-8 engine delivers its 415 factory-rated
horsepower in concert with a 6-speed automatic transmission,
including steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. A 3.27:1
performance rear axle plants the power via a set of forged alloy
wheels measuring 19x8.5 inches up front and 19x9 inches rear,
mounting aggressive 245/40ZR19 and 275/35ZR19 tires respectively.
GM's renowned Magnetic Ride Control is standard SS equipment with
driver-selectable Tour, Sport and Performance modes. Four-wheel
Brembo disc brakes deliver stopping power. Handling response is
simply outstanding, with the near-50/50 weight distribution of the
SS. The premium-level leather SS interior accommodates up to five
adults in comfort, enhancing the experience. Front seats are 8-way
power adjustable, featuring additional side bolsters. An integrated
center stack includes infotainment, climate and other vehicle
controls. Offered one way fully loaded, the SS delivers a
comfortable and exciting all-around experience for those who
appreciate a true high-performance sedan. Documents include the
original window sticker and large-format, 3-page dealer sales
brochure. Contact us today to see this low mile, wonderfully
