The SS featured a stiffened chassis, based on the VF Commodore, for improved ride and handling with reduced weight. Crash performance was also improved, and the electrical system was totally updated, allowing use of today's desirable driver aids. Suspension and braking systems were engineered to match the stunning performance potential of the SS. While the SS was a highly desirable high-performance sedan, production ended in late 2017 when Australia's venerable Holden marque ceased production that October.
