This is a true numbers matching SS built in Freemont, CA with all the options. This is
one of only 5,190 that were made in 1968.
I purchased this about 12 years ago from the second owner because it had had a frame
off restoration and it has been kept as totally original as possible. The engine and
transmission hadn’t been touched so I had the T-400 transmission rebuilt with a shift kit
by an old timer who had rebuilt them for years (~5k). The engine was meticulously
rebuilt by a local, well known race engine builder (~10k).
The engine was bored 60 Over (408CID) & balanced with a mild cam.
It has bucket seats and a console with a gate shifter & Tachometer, a tilt steering
column, wooden GM steering wheel, PS, PB, PW, A/C (new compressor & condenser)
and factory cruise control. Also the SS Instrumented dash w/Speedminder & very rare,
factory rolling tach. The entire dash/instrument cluster has been restored.
There are under dash gages (oil, temp, volts) w/idiot lights & a cruise control pilot light,
Retro radio, tinted windows, bed tonneau cover, Flowmasters, front disc brakes, rear air
shocks and a 12 Bolt POSI.
New radiator, High Energy Electronic Ignition, A-arms/ball joints, tailpipes and more.
Always driven once a week. Less than 5k on engine/trans. Clear CA title.
