1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS - Rally Green Rotisserie Restoration
1968 marked the second year of the Camaro, and Chevrolet was riding
high off a wildly successful launch. To keep the momentum building,
the front of the car received a more pointed grille while the rear
tail lights were divided for a fresh, more aggressive look. SS
models earned their signature chrome hood inserts and distinctive
low-gloss black rear taillight panels, instantly setting them apart
from the standard Camaro. Under the skin, performance was
meaningfully improved with staggered rear shock absorber mountings,
and multi-leaf rear springs were introduced for high-performance
models to better handle the increasing power outputs. 1968
continued America's love affair with the Camaro and proved to be
another highly successful year for the model - cementing its place
in muscle car history.
This 1968 SS Camaro is the result of a comprehensive rotisserie
restoration, with the kind of attention to detail that immediately
separates a great restoration from an ordinary one. The exterior is
finished in gleaming Rally Green, a rare midyear spring color that
is beautifully set off by the white vinyl top. The stunning paint
demonstrates the quality of the restoration this Camaro received.
Sitting on restored factory rally wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich
15-inch radial tires, this Camaro presents itself like it rolled
off the showroom floor.
Inside, the new white vinyl seating is dramatically contrasted by
the black carpeting and dash - a classic period-correct combination
that absolutely pops. A factory console, restored dash instruments,
and factory A/C round out a well-equipped and beautifully
refinished interior that's as comfortable as it is striking.
Under the hood lives a 350ci V8 built to 350/295hp standards.
Performance enhancements include an Edelbrock aluminum intake,
steel headers, a chrome engine dress kit, and an aluminum radiator
- all working together to deliver strong, reliable power with
modern drivability. Power steering and power brakes make this
Camaro an absolute pleasure to drive on any road, whether headed to
a car show or a Saturday morning cruise.
Unless stated otherwise, mileage shown on odometer is exempt and
unknown if original.
