Tremec serial number 13-52-085-022 is a TREMEC/Borg-Warner T5 transmission tag number, specifically identifying a Ford Mustang T5 with a longer, 23-spline input shaft, common in Mustangs from the mid-90s onward, indicating a durable, potentially World Class (WC) T5 used in performance applications. It points to a specific gear set for these popular manual transmissions, often used in performance builds, though the tag itself identifies the variant rather than the entire transmission's condition.

Decoding the Tag:

  • 13-52: Identifies it as a Borg-Warner/TREMEC T5 transmission series.
  • 085: Denotes the specific gear set, likely a World Class (WC) configuration.
  • 022: Indicates it's a Ford application, specifically for Mustangs with a longer input shaft (post-1994).

Key Characteristics:

  • Ford Mustang Fitment: Designed for Ford Mustangs, often from 1994-2010.
  • World Class (WC): The "085" suggests it's a more robust World Class version, with better bearings and synchros than earlier Standard (STD) models.
  • Long Input Shaft: The "022" suffix points to the longer input shaft used from 1994 onwards, important for correct fitment
