Purchased new in California by Mr. Doug Prestean, this 355 Spider
was Ferrari enthusiast owned and cared for incredibly well as can
be seen this 355's enormous maintenance file. The 355 was kept in
Doug's ownership until 2006 when it change ownership, but remained
in the family, now being owned by Mr. Scott Prestean.
November, 2018 with 38,740 miles, the engine was rebuilt by Ferrari
of Mill Valley at a cost of $41,784.00. At this time, the 355 also
received new catalysts, manifolds, axles, absolutely everything was
rebuilt to as new condition throughout. Maintenance receipts on
record from 2002 until August, 2022 total and approximate
$100,000.00.
Purchased by Autosport Designs on behalf of its most recent owner,
August, 2022, we had the pleasure of using this 355 Spider to drive
from San Francisco to Carmel-Monterey for that years
Monterey-Pebble Beach car week. Having exceptionally strong
mechanicals and driving as one would expect from a properly
maintained 355, the top down Ferrari motoring was thoroughly
enjoyed prior to loading the 355 at weeks end for it journey East
to Autosport Designs and its newest and now most recent
ownership.
Once it arrived at ASD, it was decided to perform various servicing
and sympathetic restoration to bring to its current exception
condition. The interior was treated to leather refurbishment to the
dash binnacle, upper door panels, various sticky switches. The air
conditioning system was serviced throughout. The convertible
mechanism was refurbished with new electronic struts, a new control
unit, new factory spec convertible top. The electrical system was
tested and new battery installed. Externally, the 355 Spider has
its front bumper and rocker panels refinished to factory as new
condition. The wheels were also refinished to as new condition at
this time. Finally, a factory 355 Challenge intermediate sport
exhaust was sourced and installed and each engine bank was balanced
to ensure optimum performance and throttle response. Therefore,
another $40,000.00 has been spent to bring this rare Verde British
Racing 355 Spider to its current, absolutely exceptional and ready
to use condition.
