Gateway Classic cars of Tampa is proud to present this classy 1966
Mercury Monterey S-55 Hardtop. Mercury went through a major restyle
in 1965 with a minor facelift in 1966. The cars were leaner,
crisper, and more attractive. With a big focus toward a luxury.
Mercury was moving up market and management deemed performance out
of character for their new vison, so the S-55 trim was removed
early in the 66 model year. This makes this car particularly rare!
Our 2 door hardtop Monterey presents as a mostly original survivor.
With no obvious signs of restoration or modification. The White
paint has minor flaws, but is very presentable with no rust or
major chipping. The roof is wrapped in black vinyl and the car
rides on white factory hubcaps with white walled radials. Inside
you're greeted to buckets up front with a center console, all
wrapped in pearl parchment, white vinyl. Under the hood is a
healthy 428ci V8 spinning a three speed automatic trans. The combo
has no problem lugging this big sled around. Plenty of power and
smooth shifting. These big 60s Mercs are an uncommon sight in the
21st century and a hi-po, S-55 optioned Monterey hardtop is even
more so. This car would be a great addition to your collection.
Don't waste time, it'll be gone before you know it.
