Vehicle Description
This 1985 De Tomaso Pantera GT5 is powered by a 351ci V8 engine
mated to a ZF 5-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with
power brakes, rack & pinion steering, widebody fiberglass fender
flares, rear wing and Campagnolo wheels wrapped in Pirelli P7s. In
1975 Ford stopped importing the Pantera into the U.S.; Wisconsin
businessman George Stauffer assumed importation of the new Pantera
GT5 in the early 1980s. The Pantera GT5 was a limited-edition model
that continued to use the Ford Cleveland 351ci V8 engine now
sourced from an Australian supplier. It was visually discernable
from its predecessor Pantera cars as a widebody iteration with
bonded and riveted-on fiberglass fender flares, lower rocker-panel
side skirting, integrated front air dam and large fixed rear wing.
The GT5 also features a revised chassis and better brakes, and the
interior cabin has wood-grain appointments. It is also equipped
with air conditioning, power windows, tinted glass and leather
seating. 7,403 miles (title reads mileage exempt).
