For Sale: 1960 Studebaker Lark in Guerneville, California

Vehicle Description

Details

This 1960 Studebaker Lark VIII is powered by a 259ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The car is painted green on green and beige vinyl seats with matching door cards. This example was modified during its life with Omega custom gauges, Cragar wheels, custom steering wheels, a glove compartment mounted Pioneer stereo unit and better stopping power is provided with a front disc brake conversion. The five-digit replacement odometer shows just 815 miles, but the true mileage is unknown. The car is located in Guerneville, California.

This vehicle was inspected and photographed by a third party. The results show a driver level of condition on the exterior as well as mechanically. The cars paint has likely been refreshed at some point in its life but does show signs of rust that are pictured in multiple locations, including the underside of the car. In addition, the chrome shows its age, and there are signs of body filler in isolated areas. The two-tone interior is in good condition and shows only minimal wear. The new gauges are nestled in a wood trim and complimented by a wood-trimmed steering wheel. Mechanically, the car runs and drives but needs attention to the brakes and tires. In addition, the drivetrain seems to be seeping oil. Included in the sale of this Studebaker are shop and owners manuals as well as a suitcase that stores the jack and tools.

This Studebaker is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in Guerneville, California.

About the model

The first generation of Studebaker Lark debuted for the 1959 model year. This new series of compact cars featured a shortened take on Studebaker's 1958 full-size models, and was offered in coupe, sedan, convertible, and station wagon (known as Wagonaire) body styles. The first generation Lark was available in two main variants, the Lark VI and Lark VIII. These variants were named for their respective engine cylinders. The VI featured a 2.8L inline-six engine, while the VIII was powered by a 4.2L V8 unit. Both variants were offered in Deluxe or Regal trim levels. Production of the first-generation Lark lasted until 1961, when it was replaced by the Second Generation Studebaker Lark.
