America engine paired with a 4-synchro transmission. The Cooper S
front disc brakes, Heim-jointed adjustable lower front suspension
arms, and Spax adjustable rear shocks contribute to its exceptional
performance. The restoration journey began with a complete
disassembly, evaluating components for restoration or replacement.
Media-blasting the interior and exterior prevented immediate rust,
while chassis components underwent the same treatment. The heart of
this Mini Pickup is a professionally rebuilt 1275cc Austin America
engine mated to a Cooper S transmission with a remote shifter,
ensuring a powerful and smooth driving experience. Utilizing the
engine cradle and front suspension from an Austin Mini Cooper S,
the vehicle features power-assisted disc brakes and Heim-jointed
lower A arms with aftermarket suspension adjustments. All chassis,
suspension, and steering components were meticulously restored or
replaced with new bushings and bearings. The body received special
attention at a Victoria, BC body shop specializing in Austin Mini
restorations. Rust was replaced, body panels straightened, and the
entire body painted in Jaguar Primrose Yellow. The chassis,
suspension, and steering components were reassembled and attached
to the body mounted on a rotisserie. Upon completion of the
suspension assembly, the car was removed from the rotisserie, and
the rebuilt engine and transmission were installed. The interior
was professionally restored by an automotive upholsterer. The
pickup bed floor boasts an exotic African wood that is resistant to
rot when wet. A custom tonneau cover completes the overall
aesthetic of this rare and collectible classic Mini. This Morris
Mini Cooper Pickup Truck, with 6 X 13 alloy Minilite-style wheels
