AMG engineers and designers are used to creating powerful and dynamic automobiles; however, nothing could have prepared them for what they were told in a Sindelfingen boardroom in the late 2000s. Paired with a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the SLS would reach 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds. With a top speed of 196 miles per hour, six-piston aluminum brake calipers provide the necessary braking performance. While capable of astonishing performance figures, the AMG Drive Unit allows for selectable drive modes working in conjunction with the suspension and transmission for tailored driving characteristics based on the driver's preference.??
