The engine in this Corvette has a small block Chevrolet engine all
painted in Chevrolet orange from the block, heads, intake, to the
valve covers which are adorned with Turbofire decals, 4-barell
carb, cast iron factory exhaust manifolds heading out to the
side-pipes, chrome open-element air cleaner assembly, and backed by
a 4-speed manual transmission.
The engine compartment is fully detailed with all the correct
factory Corvette ignition shielding, hoses, wires, fan and shroud,
and even has air conditioning.
Interior
This Sting Ray offers a completely restored and luxurious driving
environment from the individual black bucket seats that have a
factory bolster-like design for more seating comfort and better
lateral support with a center console housing the 4-speed
shifter.
The black theme extends to the carpet, door panels, the dash with
the electrical clock and radio controls and vent controls that are
located under the instrument panel on each side of the steering
column, the matched speedometer and tachometer are the primary
instruments in the Sting Ray with an electrical fuel gauge,
electrical coolant temperature gauge, ammeter, and an oil pressure
gauge.
A re-settable trip odometer, head-light switch, cigarette lighter,
head-lamp retractor switch, hood release, and four-position
ignition switch complete the instrument panel with the great
factory wood steering wheel and iconic upright radio also.
Exterior
Chevrolet had a lot of styling changes on the 1966 Sting Ray, and
ours is beautiful and is covered in a new Nassau Blue paint job
flowing over the big block hood and the body with louvers behind
the front wheels that help increase air flow through the engine
compartment, giving it both an aggressive and sophisticated
look.
All the emblems, the rear bumpers and taillights, door handles,
flip-up gas cap, and the side exhaust, remain in as-new condition
as well as the Rally wheels and whitewall tires which recreate the
original look.
