10,260 actual miles! It is all original and looks practically new
top to bottom. It looks like it was kept in a bubble, even the
underside is immaculate. The original owner passed away after
purchasing it and the family kept the vehicle until 2001. We
purchased it from a private 50 car collection in Georgia.
Documented with deluxe Marti Report.
EXTERIOR: It is all original and looks practically new. The body is
mint with no rust or damage, not even a door ding. Still proudly
wearing its original 2 tone paint. The chrome and trim are shiny
and straight and there is plenty of it. Being the XLT Lariat it
comes with a chrome front end and extra moldings. It also has
optional chrome step bumper and bed rails. I'm amazed how mint the
brushed aluminum trim on the tailgate is, not even a scratch. The
glass is crystal clear; it has optional sliding rear window. The
weatherstrips are still soft. Deluxe wheels are still mint. The
tires were recently replaced for the first time, the original tires
showed no wear but were over 30 years old!
INTERIOR: It's literally like brand new but it's original! It
optioned out real well too. The dash area is pristine, no cracks or
fading. The ashtray hasn't been used, original manuals are in the
glove box. It has optional tachometer, deluxe stereo and a leather
wrapped tilt wheel. It also has power windows and locks. Plush
upholstery on the seat, headliner and door panels. The seat has a
fold down armrest with cup holders.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Also all original and still looks great.
Powered by a 5.0 liter with electronic fuel injection. Features
include air conditioning, cruise control, power steering and
brakes. It looks like it just left the factory. All the components,
clamps, brackets look great. There's even an oil change sticker
from 1988!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed looks like it hasn't hauled
anything but cotton balls! It is pristine.
UNDERSIDE: Wow, even underneath is extra clean. It has optional
handling package with swaybars front and back. The complete factory
exhaust still looks new. Disc brakes in front, e-brake is hooked
up. The original spare tire is still in place. The floors have
original undercoat that still looks fresh. It has optional dual gas
tanks. Bottom of the motor looks spotless. It has the AOD automatic
overdrive trans and 3.55 gears in the rear. I can't believe how
clean it is under here!
SERVICE: It flew through our inspection with flying colors. We made
a few minor tweaks, and it was good to go.
This is one of the best-preserved survivors I've seen. It is a time
capsule. Not only does it look new, but it is functioning like new
too. You may be buying the newest 1988 F150 there is!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
