Back in 1985 Chevrolet released an entirely new vehicle platform
that was initially designed to compete with the 1984 release of the
Plymouth Voyager mini-van. The new """"Astro"""" van was a
completely new concept that combined both the new """"mini-van""""
segment, with the then dwindling station-wagon market, offering a
vehicle that is easy to load, had tons of interior space, and was
much easier to drive compared to the long, gas guzzling, full size
wagons.
This 2001 model year Astro van is a great example of why these
vehicles were so popular from the mid- '80's until 2005, when
Chevrolet finally ended production. With seating for 8 people, the
front captain's chairs are plush and comfortable with 6-way power
driver's seat, the rear 2 rows are bench style seating with
matching plush fabric so all 8 passengers ride in total comfort.
The seats along with the rest of the interior, are in excellent
condition showing minimal signs of wear. The dash, center console,
side panels, and headliner are all in like new condition - the
gauge panel lens is clear making it easy to read the odometer

plywood with no issues. Towing capacity is an impressive 4700 lbs,

Under the hood is the ultra-dependable 4.3L Chevy V6 engine factory
rated at 190 horsepower with 250 ft lbs of torque, providing plenty
of power for towing those heavier loads. Shifting duties are
handled by a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and
""""Tow/Haul"""" mode that, when activated, changes the shift
pattern to extend shift points for improved towing capabilities.
Distributing the power is a center mounted transfer case driving
both front and rear wheels - a true """"All Wheel Drive"""" system
making wet roads and especially snowy roads, easier to travel.

thanks to its proven track record for being very reliable and very
capable of so many things - especially its capabilities to seat up
