This is arguably the ultimate dream machine from the classic muscle car era and one of the most desirable collector cars in the world. Its matching-numbers LS6 Mark IV big-block V-8 engine has achieved legendary status among muscle enthusiasts of every stripe.

The LS6 engine was the largest-displacement and most powerful engine ever installed a Chevelle, factory rating of 450 HP at 5,600 RPM and 500 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 RPM was the highest rated in a factory production vehicle in the 60's and 70's. Breathing through a Holley 800 CFM 4-barrel carburetor mounted on a Winters dual-plane aluminum intake manifold, the LS6 featured 4-bolt mains, a heavy-duty forged steel crank and lightweight TRW forged aluminum pistons on forged 7/16" Pink steel connecting rods. A solid-lifter camshaft actuated 2.19-inch intake and 1.88-inch exhaust valves with a closed-chamber, rectangular-port cylinder heads with 11.25:1 compression. At 6,500 RPM redline forced the use of deep-groove pulleys for the engine. Behind this LS6 is an incredibly sturdy driveline, that general motors did an extensive amount of research and development in this case employing a M22 HD Muncie Close Ratio 4-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction 4:10 Rear End Ratio.

Not Only was this the dragstrip champion not your daily grocery getter the 1970 Chevelle LS6 was one of the best-looking cars of the 70's Muscle Car era. Brilliant Cortez Silver, Black stripes, Black vinyl roof and Black Bucket Seats and Console. The RPO Z15 SS package included F41 special performance suspension, power brakes with front discs and Firestone Wide Oval white-letter tires on 14x7-inch SS wheels, Cowl induction hood with hold-down pins, power steering, and factory Muncie shifter, full SS instrumentation including tachometer, and a AM/FM radio.
