Origin from Kirkham Motorsports.
The Kirkham 427 KMS/SC is a standout - a vivid demonstration of how
meticulous engineering can resurrect a legend. David Kirkham's
team, known for their unparalleled precision, has brought the
Shelby Cobra back to life. This isn't just about remaking a
classic; it's about elevating it with superior materials like
aircraft-grade aluminum, blending the past's charm with today's
engineering marvels. Collaboration with Shelby American is the
cherry on top. It's not just a seal of authenticity; it's a nod to
the Cobra's storied past. For collectors and enthusiasts, this car
is more than a vehicle; it's a piece of history, a tangible link to
a golden era of motoring.
For some, it is the sound of a big block FE engine rumbling through
the ceramic-coated side pipes and the brutal acceleration that
pushes you back when you hit the gas. Others can't help but stare
at the curvaceous fenders and are drawn in by the beautiful
craftsmanship of the metallic blue aluminum body with 2 matte grey
racing stripes down the center. From the oil cooler and hood scoop
to the roll bar and fender flares, this car is all about
performance.
Power comes from a 427ci Shelby aluminum-block V8 paired with a
four-speed manual transmission. The engine was dyno'd and produced
514 LB-FT Torque and 507 H.P.
The vehicle features quick-jack bumperettes, aluminum fuel filler
cap, a roll hoop, Cobra-branded wind wings, side-exit exhausts, and
427 Cobra fender badges.
The cockpit features black bucket seats with matching black wool
carpets and door liners, along with Simpson lap belts. Features
include a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror as well as a fire
extinguisher and a power cutoff switch located behind the seats.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel features a Cobra center cap and
fronts Smiths and Lucas instrumentation including an 8k-rpm
tachometer, a 180-mph reverse-sweep speedometer, and auxiliary
gauges.
Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through
an extensive and diligent process called the "Canepa Difference."
This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where
all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They
also receive award-winning concours-level detailing, including a
thorough cleaning of each and every surface.
