Melanson Motors is proud to offer this frame off restored, 1970 Chevelle SS. This is a very special car! A real Super Sport presented with a copy of the original build sheet. This Chevelle was purchased new at Bill Turner Chevrolet in Forest City, North Carolina. An original SS 396 car, this Chevelle is now upgraded with a GM Performance ZZ 502 cubic inch crate engine. Power is sent through a TH400 automatic transmission and a 12-bolt posi rear end. It rides on 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
This Chevelle has a desirable list of options which include JL2 power disc brakes, A51 strato bucket seats, D55 console, F41 special performance suspension, G94 3.31 axle, C60 air conditioning and more. This car still retains all of its original sheet metal. It was repainted in a stunning bright red with black stripes during restoration. The body is laser straight and the gaps are excellent. The black interior presents like new and everything functions as it should. The interior features an original style 3-spoke steering wheel, console with staple shifter, super sport gauges, an autometer tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The radio is a Retrosound AM/FM and the speakers have been upgraded. Underneath, the floors and frame are great and are just as clean as the top side! An absolutely stunning Chevelle SS that is a perfect addition to any collection or garage.
