For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

When Chevy decided in 1970 to name its first-ever personal luxury sedan after the Moroccan version of Las Vegas, it set the tone for what the Monte Carlo would be moving forward throughout its six generations of existence. This 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo we have for you embodies that initial push by GM to create a great cruiser that could be thought of as a 'gentleman's muscle car.' While the original paint code calls for Antique Green, there is nothing antique about the Metallic Green this car was repainted with. And we want to emphasize the metallic in the Green Metallic, as the true amount of sparkle embedded in this color can only truly be appreciated in the sun. Also not completely visible from the photos is the touch of blue flake also present this fantastic paint. Not so coincidentally, according to the available paperwork, the original vinyl top also happened to be blue. Although the top is now black, the modern paint pays homage to the car's original color scheme in its own unique way.

The green theme continues inside, as the original color code for the interior was Jade Vinyl, but it has since been upgraded in both quality and color to a plush set of ivory-colored vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the back. The seatbelts, however, do hark back to the original green, keeping this car's distinctive tribute to its past going strong, while still looking good.

Under the hood, we find an upgraded 396/402 big block Chevy V-8 that was transplanted from either a Chevelle or Monte Carlo at some point in this car's past. Power from that big engine is routed through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission before being sent off to a 12-bolt rear end. Riding on a set of appropriately named Ridler wheels shod in Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTS rubber, there is no question that this car is not joking around when it rolls up to a stoplight.
