1977, my Dad ordered this car. He wanted the 400ci 4bl engine, the
most powerful engine available in the GP that year, and the
black-on-black colors. In 1981 when I turned 16, he signed it over
to me. He said the coupe was, "just too small for him." I have had
it ever since. One family-owned car. I drove it regularly up until
about 2003. The Good Stuff- It's a really fun car to drive. Lots of
thumbs-ups and conversation. There are a lot of Camaros and
Mustangs out there but not many GPs. Sounds great! I put
FlowMasters on it in 2010. Had the engine re-built in 2001. I guess
I have about 15,000 miles on it since then. I haven't driven it
much in the last 20 years. Still runs nice. Lots of it is original.
Even the back seat is the original material. I have the original
purchase paperwork, window sticker, etc. Last year (2023) I had a
lot of suspension work and some engine work done. I have all those
receipts. The Not so Good Stuff- I had it repainted in 1991, and
after all these years it still looks reasonably good when it is
cleaned up. There are blemishes, a couple of dents and a rear
quarter panel that is showing its age, etc. The interior is showing
its age. The interior is all original except for the driver's seat.
