The Solid Axle Vettes were built between 1953 and 1962. This would
be the first generation of the Corvette by Chevrolet and would be
marketed as a two-door, luxury sports car. They have been a staple
of American Sports cars and have been produced for almost 70
years!. The Corvette was in direct response to the European Sports
cars entering main stream US homes and the love that us Americans
saw for fast open top cars.
