Land Rover dates back to 1948 establishing itself as the most capable off roader, and the vehicle of choice for adventure in Europe and the African Continent. In 1970, Land Rover upped its road going game with the first Range Rover, now referred to as the Classic, which soldiered on for an impressive 25 years with only incremental changes.
In 1995 the new P38 Range Rover was introduced raising the bar for on and off road capability while at the same time emphasizing luxury and creature comfort that has become the standard that every Land Rover upholds today. The P38 was short lived, retired in 2003 by the all new BMW designed models that were in every way were more refined and up market yet short on the charming character and quirkiness of the P38 and Classic Range Rovers.

Powered by a 4.0 liter V8 Rover engine that was improved over previous years with the more reliable Bosch engine management system, replacing the sketchy old Lucas units. The P38 introduced some ground breaking features, including the often troublesome electronic air suspension. No worries as this one has already been fitted with the popular coil over conversion. Other than the suspension and the custom made third row "kiddie seat" everything is as delivered from the factory and in proper working order.
This Range Rover tips the scale at almost 5000 pounds. Even with a torquey V8 engine its no barn burner off the line. But its smooth and deliberate in the best tradition of Land Rover and unlike the earlier versions is at home on modern interstates, capable of cruising 80+ mph without drama all day long. The interior is plush and inviting, slathered with yards of Connolly leather, ready to eat up the miles on the tarmac, the hard pack or the back country rocky and soft stuff.
Finished in Rioja Red and Saddle Leather this 25 year old Rover is sporting a mere 83k miles. Its been one family owned and properly maintained with many of the relevant service records retained. There is absolutely no rust or concerning corrosion on this truck. It remains in excellent overall condition. New BF Goodrich All Terrains, were just mounted and a 4-wheel alignment and brake fluid flush was also just completed. Last oil service was Oct 2023.
With the range now eclipsing the 25 year mark, the P38 joins its predecessor Range Rover as the "new" classic.
