Car has an automatic transmission. Beautiful, fun Classic Resto-Mod hotrod. Laura Mae is the epitome of a classic fifties hot rod. She purrs like a kitten but runs like a scalded dog. I purchased her in Cleveland Ohio and drove her back to Muskogee Oklahoma (14 hours) at highway speeds with no problems whatsoever other than having a sore arm waving to all the people that honked, waved, gave me thumbs several times an hour. As this was my first non-hoopty old car it was a little startling at first but you get used to it LOL .
I have added a classic air system, Electric windshield wipers, and a hidden kill switch.
This car is a beauty but she IS A DRIVER. The paint is probably an 8 so you don't have to be terrified every time you take her out. She has a solid V8 motor and automatic transmission. I have been told it's a 350/350 combination, with a slight cam.
My wife and I bought this car to make sure that we really enjoyed having a classic car before we bought our true dream car a 1949 Cadillac fastback which was quite a bit more expensive than the price of Laura Mae. So sadly, we are passing her on to someone else who will love her like we have.
When you crank Laura Mae she has a slight burble that will let everyone know that there's something exciting under the hood but she is not obnoxious. If you accelerate hard you will feel and hear her power and then get an extremely satisfying little chirp from the tires when the transmission goes into second gear.
Laura Mae has lots of lovely classic features like big white wall tires, dice on the air filling stems and door locks. Custom made bi-colored window cranks and knobs. Hooded visors are extremely cool on a car but one of the issues is that it is very hard to see red lights and normally you would have to crane your neck down to see when the light changes. Laura May has a prism where you look into the prism and you can see when the light changes from red to green. Fastbacks have beautiful lines but the big back glass tins to heat up like a greenhouse. Laura May has louvers to keep out heat. Laura Mae even has a hula girl on the back Dash. The interior is a custom-made two-tone that is very comfortable on the long drive.
