Details
This low-mileage 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible has just 30,642 miles accumulated by three previous owners in Texas. It wears its original Mystichrome paint with a black soft convertible top and a two-tone black and Mystichrome leather interior. It’s powered by a supercharged 4.6L V8 engine driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Original equipment included an SVT gauge cluster, 5-spoke SVT chrome wheels, a rear spoiler, fog lights, ABS brakes, air conditioning, and cruise control. A reproduction window sticker is included in the gallery. This example has been modified with the addition of a BBK cold-air induction system to boost available power. The vehicle is located in Virginia.
A third-party inspection and detailed photos document the original, low-mileage condition of the vehicle. The exterior paint shows minor paint chips and light scratches that are consistent with the age of the vehicle. There is a small dent on the front bumper that can be seen in the closeup images. The chrome wheels and the black convertible soft-top are found to be free of blemishes. The leather driver's seat shows some creasing and minor wear but the two-tone upholstery is otherwise in good condition. Photos show minor staining of the rear carpet but the vehicle shows light use overall. The accident-free CarFax shows dealership maintenance and an August 2017 entry shows the current mileage indicating the vehicle has been stored for the past six years. Included in the sale are one set of keys, a reproduction window sticker, the original owner’s manual, and a wheel lock removal tool.

About the model
The Ford Mustang SVT Cobra was a high-performance model that was part of the SN-99 "New Edge" Fourth Generation Mustang that continued on the preceding SN-95 SVT Cobra platform. Introduced for the 1999 model year, it featured updated exterior styling, a more powerful engine, and, for the first time, fitted to a Mustang, independent rear suspension. These cars were offered in coupe and convertible body styles and featured a range of distinct styling touches. The interior was essentially unchanged from the previous SVT Cobra, however, cloth seats were no longer available, and minor updates were made over the generation. Ford claimed that the 4.6L V-8 had 320 horsepower; however, independent tests proved it to be less. The year 2000 saw an absence of the Cobra as Ford changed the engine from the Teksid block to the Windsor Aluminium Plant block for 2001, providing more accurate performance ratings. In 2003 Ford added a supercharger and 32-valve Dual Over Head Cams on the 4.6-liter engine, raising it to 390hp, with these cars commonly known as "Terminator." The Fourth Generation Mustang was the last to feature the SVT Cobra, being replaced by the Fifth Generation Mustang and its optional performance trims.
