For Sale: 1946 Mercury Eight in Sacramento, California

Vehicle Description

Details

This 1946 Mercury Eight coupe was restored in 1997 and one family owned for 57 years. It is powered by a 239ci flathead V8 and transfers power to the rear wheels with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. The post-war coupe wears a deep burgundy paint with beige cloth upholstery and features an art-deco-styled dash with an analog clock. The car is also equipped with a start button on the left side so one can operate the gear shift lever at the same time. Passengers can find easy access to the rear seat by pivoting the front passenger seat forward. The car shows 4,009 miles on the five-digit odometer, but the total mileage is unknown. The car is located in Sacramento, California.

This Mercury Eight has been photographed and inspected by a third party. The exterior of the car is in overall good condition, with some minor dings, scratches, and chips in the paint as well as some oxidization. The cars exterior, despite its flaws, still presents well. The inspection does report some rust on the drivers door as well. The interior is in good condition, and the cloth upholstery appears to be free of tears and nicely cared for. The car will need attention to the suspension bushings, and the hood supports need to be replaced. In addition, the antenna is missing, and the radiator shows signs of seepage. A recent service was performed on the vehicle, and it runs and drives appropriately.
