Wow, what a looker! Killer colors and it is fully decked out with
accessories. Older body off frame restoration that still looks
great. It features an automatic trans, power steering and brakes
which makes easy peasy to drive.
EXTERIOR: The body is straight, no rust or damage. According to the
tag it is an original Raven Black car, it is like looking into a
mirror. Loaded with accessories that really make it stand apart
from the others. Up front it has the "cattle guard". On each side
it has a spotlight, stone shields, rocker molding, fender skirts
and door handle guards. In back is a "cattle guard", Continental
kit with matching hubcap and dual exhaust coming through the
bumper. All the chrome and trim is shiny and straight. On top is a
power convertible upgraded with black cloth. On the ground is a set
of radial white walls with optional wire basket hubcaps.
INTERIOR: Awesome looking Red-White interior against the black
paint. Reproduction upholstery and door panels. Red carpet and
embroidered mats on the floor. Seatbelts in front. The metal trim
is repainted smooth glossy red. The dash area is very clean
looking. It has quartz movement in the clock, optional Town and
Country radio and an owner's manual in the glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Clean looking, stock engine compartment. It has
a Teapot 4 barrel carb with correct choke tube, Thunderbird Special
valve covers and oil bath air cleaner. It features power steering
and brakes. 1956 was the first year for the 12 volt system. It's
all painted up neatly.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The continental kit swings out of the way to
open the trunk. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
nicely. The weatherstrip, trunk mat and well liner are in excellent
shape. It has a white wall spare on a painted rim with the jack
assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It looks like it was an older frame off restoration. The
floors, rockers and braces are amazingly rust free clean metal
painted semigloss black. The steering and suspension look to be in
good shape, upgraded with air shocks in back. It has a polished
stainless dual exhaust system. The fuel tank and straps have been
replaced. Factory drum brakes at all four wheels, the e-brake is
hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean. The Cruise-o-Matic
transmission also looks clean.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and gave it an oil change, tuned the
carb, and set the timing. We fixed the wipers, replaced the brake
light switch, repaired the spotlights, replaced the door lock
cylinders, bled the power top system, lubed, and adjusted the hood
latch, bled the brakes.
There are other Sunliners out there, they are not this one! The
colors, accessories and condition make this the one to have.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
