Vehicle Description
This custom 1956 Ford F-600 pickup build was a 3-year-long project
with over 8,000 hours invested. The body started as a single
family-owned farm truck that was built into a one-off,
diesel-powered, quad-cab truck. The cab was stretched to
accommodate a set of rear suicide doors and reinforced throughout.
A new roof section was hand-fabricated as were new rockers, the
custom steel dash and the handmade center console. The front of the
truck has a custom-made valance and grille section, and the engine
compartment has a handmade steel firewall and radiator cover panel.
The bed of the truck is completely one-off and has custom bedsides,
bed floor and rear valence. All the bed panels were welded together
and have round corners to match the cab. The rear tailgate was also
handmade and features a custom internal latching system. The truck
has paint and bodywork that was finished at a show-car level, and
the clearcoat was sanded through 8000 grit and then polished and
buffed to achieve a mirror finish. Top-of-the-line Glasurit 55 line
of paint was used. The frame was built to accommodate a Porterbuilt
Mustang II-style front and a rear 4-link to hold the custom and
narrowed 14-bolt rear end. The truck has a rack & pinion steering
rack good for 1200 PSI and it rides on an AccuAir suspension with
two tanks and two pumps, also from AccuAir. The truck uses Goodyear
airbags on all four corners with three programmable ride-height
settings that are auto-adjusting or can also be adjusted manually.
The engine is a hot-rod diesel, Cummins 24-valve, built by D&J
Precision Machine in Ohio and capable of 1000hp. The block is a
6.7-liter with X-beam rods, a D&J HD girdle, D&J ARP head
studs, D&J pushrods and a Hamilton cast cam. It has a D&J
Billet front cover, Stage 4 head upgrade, 6.7 rail and lines,
billet soft plug upgrade and a 48RE transmission. The engine uses
compound turbos and includes a FirePunk diesel tuner. The interior
was created from scratch and has a hand-built dash, hand-built
center console, custom door panels, custom seats, a handmade
headliner, a Sparks billet steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges,
Relicate leather and zebra wood inlays.
