This 1970 500L was totally refinished in Palermo, Italy. The car was refinished in light blue. Exterior details include bright trim, a folding red fabric sunroof, a rear-mounted luggage rack, and chrome bumpers with nudge bars. The selling dealer notes the weather seals were replaced along with the hood, fenders, rocker panels, front fascia, and front wheel arches. Red-finished 12″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and whitewall tires that are said to have been mounted during current ownership. The selling dealer notes the leaf springs and dampers were replaced. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes, components of which were replaced during the refurbishment. A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 130-km/h Veglia Borletti speedometer with an inset fuel level gauge. The five-digit replacement odometer shows 777 kilometers (~483 miles), which is said to represent the miles accumulated since the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.
The 595cc inline-twin features a single downdraft carburetor and was overhauled and overbored during the refurbishment. Service during current ownership is said to have included fitting a starter control switch and fuel pump insulator along with replacing the oil pan gasket, fuel line and filter, and distributor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was overhauled during the refurbishment. The clutch, transmission mounts, and gaskets were reportedly replaced.
