Vehicle Description
Here is a really original presenting, early Rolls-Royce Silver
Spirit finished in not often seen, Light Oyster (light mushroom
metallic) with rich honey tan Connolly hides. It has twin fine
lines to the waist-rails in a mid-tan to match the interior. The
car shines with all the elegance and gentry one would feel driving
on the edge of the Norfolk Coast, just as the colour name would
suggest you be. These early Spirits are not so often seen anymore
and it is truly a delight to come across such an original
presenting example such as this one. The Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit
is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed and built V8 engine
with the Bosch fuel injection system which provides ultra smooth
touring. This example is very original in every detail. It still
has its original 80s mobile phone! (It can easily be removed if you
so prefer.) A very clean example that was first delivered in
California and then moved to the mid-west with 10,000 miles showing
in 1986. Owned by a wealthy Illinois businessman for some 30 years
forth, even though in the mid-west, she was never driven in
inclement weather and as such is very clean underneath. She was
subsequently sold to a Rolls-Royce enthusiast some 5 years ago from
which we purchased the car (deceased estate). She has a perfectly
clean Carfax history, regularly serviced with anything requiring
doing, attended to. Recently, all the hydraulics and braking system
were inspected and serviced as required. Under the bonnet, the
presentation is very clean. It has not been precision detailed but
simply well kept and maintained throughout its life. Mileage is
87,000 and with its regular and attentive maintenance, behaves and
presents like a car of half the miles. The body of the car is
straight and the paint entirely consistent. She was completely
repainted some 15 years ago - and a very fine repaint at that - so
she presents stunningly well. There is hardly a mark or defect that
stands out to detract from its overall beautiful presentation. She
is deep in lustre and shine and without any fade at all. Rubbers,
mouldings, badges and external fittings are all in good condition.
The interior on this car is gorgeous and completely original in
presentation. The un-touched factory original Connolly leather
shows beautifully with just the right amount of natural patina. It
all presents clean with the seat leather supple and soft. A very
welcomed feature, is the leather has never been redyed. For those
of you who may not know, Vaumol Luxan grain by Connolly was unique
to Rolls-Royce. When these hides were tanned, the Luxan process
involved hand-rubbing of a darker tone into the grain of the
leather. This gives the leather a rich antique look so you can see
the natural features right down to the individual pores. Somewhat
like you see on a classical Chesterfield couch or the top finish an
old antique desk. The look is truly gorgeous. Some who do not know,
might look at this and think the leather is worn or dirty. No! This
is the way it is meant to be. If you are not one to appreciate the
attention to detail as seen with Vaumol Luxan grain by Connolly,
that goes into a Rolls-Royce motor car, then perhaps a very
original Rolls-Royce such is this one, is not for you. And we will
respectfully decline any request to redye it. It is not meant to
look like a new Lexus! The interior wood is also original but it
does show some hairline marks in the clear lacquer of the dash and
the door cappings, with some delamination on the left rear door. In
a perfect world, these should be redone but they do not present in
an overly unsightly manner. Should you be interested in having them
refinished, we do so in-house and can attend to for you (please
enquire). Carpets, seats, dash, rear parcel shelf, fixtures and
fittings are truly nice and I best encourage you to look at all the
photos to fully appreciate how well the interior presents. The rich
honey tan Connolly interior delivers a very warm and
