How do you take a timeless Chevy and make it even more appealing?
You start with a list of choice upgrades, execute a professional,
frame-off restoration, and top everything off with a hotted up
version of GM's proven LS small block! When it comes to
performance, durability and sheer popularity, nothing beats a
Golden Era Chevrolet. And, thanks to their simplicity and heavy
duty hardware, classics like the brand's storied C10 are ideal
foundations for sweet customs with excellent drivability.
This trick truck is the literal embodiment of American Muscle and
pickup that's achieved Icon status. The product of a detailed,
frame off every nut and bolt attention to detail restoration. This
super cool Chevy is clean, mean and ready to roll! All in lowered,
low profile, big wheel style it can skate low and slow or tear it
up. Hit the horn and get outta my way this custom C10 from the
George Orwell era is a comin' through.
Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by
the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws
to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public
highways in your area.
Exterior
The truck's slick red two-stage paint kicks off with a chromed
bumper, which guards a polished and gold bowtie branded grille
that's finished with traditional square dual halogen headlights.
The paint is so slick it's like a freshly Zamboni-fied ice rink. A
domed hood pushes back to a traditional front glass with blackened
trimmings and wipers. On the doors, traditional two-piece side
tinted glass is behind a large polished mirror. The doors have
chromed factory handles in this red field and above is a chromed
drip edge curving around their top edges. On the back bed portion
of the truck, an all red painted bed has a like new rubber liner on
its top. Quarters have stainless polished edge trimmings and these
highlight 22-inch blackened spoke and shined dish edged Weld wheels
and incredibly low profile tires within their framing. "Propah" C10
if there ever was one.
Interior
Swing either door and we are greeted with a black and gray small
checked broadcloth bench with gray vinyl bolsters. This bench
cozies up to gray door panels which have like new square actuator
bezels and cranks. Gray carpeting covers the floors and it is very
clean. Up front the mid 80's C10 wrap around dash front is in black
and now sports new black faced, black bezeled red lettered digital
gauges. These are like new and look great in the back front dash
field with its gray padded top. A rally blackened spoke steering
wheel now fronts the dash. Some red steel for the dash lowers and a
tight dark gray headliner above and we are ready to move to the
money shot!
Drivetrain
Frame off rotisserie restorations always afford some liberties and
this truck and its mill are no exception. Now we see in a perfectly
preserved factory looking engine bay a consigner stated 6.2 liter
V8 LS engine from a Corvette. It has been rebuilt and contains
forged internals and a BTR cam kit. There is a carbon fiber intake
manifold which houses EFI. A stage 3 4L80E 4-speed automatic
transmission is in back using power and spinning the rear tires
with a 10 bolt 4.10 posi Moser axle. Headers and stainless steel
mufflers are on but are sans catalytic converters. A like new
engine bay with a like new mill stuck in its center. Cha Ching!
Undercarriage
Not surprisingly, the bottom of this first class C10 is fully
sorted and ready to roll, all the way from the truck's undercoated
floors to its 20-gallon fuel tank. Everything rolls low and mean on
a familiar, factory-style suspension that's been thoughtfully
restored to perfection. Quick stops come courtesy of power-assisted
Camaro SS 14-inch discs.
Drive-Ability
A run on powerful trucks are in our midst and these are all top
quality builds. I get to drive 'em all and honestly they are all
great fun. This one took off like a red ticket and handled like it
was on rails. All functions were working like new and it's a really
comfy ergonomically engineered driver. No wonder these C10's are so
popular.
Take the key, put it in the ignition and turn it on and drive it
home. It's all ready for you wrapped up like a fresh Christmas
present under the tree. Oh, and I forgot, enjoy the heck out of it
as you deserve it!
