Vehicle Description
1992 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
The vision for the Cadillac is based on precision engineering and
the complete luxury experience. This is the reason why Cadillac is
one of the finest cars ever manufactured in the United States. This
tradition will carry on throughout its manufacturing history, and
to this day, Cadillac still remains to be America's finest luxury
vehicles. F ord's vision of precision manufacturing led to the
ultimate reliability of his vehicles. Therefore, Cadillac's
reputation preceded itself as the better-made automobile compared
to its competitors.
For consignment, a Coupe DeVille in nice condition. Good paint,
good interior, good mechanically, all good! A verified 49,268
original miles, tuxedo black with gold accenting. Honey, let's go
to the club and have dinner tonight.
Exterior
Black with gold accenting and extra shiny chrome gives this car a
bit more of a touch of class as it is making its way design wise
from the square and rectangle design era. A chromed V shaped grille
leads the way and it is flanked by a rectangular inset headlight
and wrap around running and turn signal. A shiny bumper still in
chrome is framing the bottom of the front end and it has some black
rubber accenting. In the front quarters, door rockers and rear
quarter lowers is a wide stainless panel accenting the bottom of
the car and breaking up the black. Gaps on these panels are well
minded and there is a peppering of gold accenting with wreath
crests and script DeVille badging. On top is a black padded vinyl
top which all extends to the doors upper glass surrounds. There is
also an opera window for the rear passengers. On the back, a big
square trunk with tail lights which are vertical and harken back to
the Caddys of the 70's. 15-nch factory badged wheels are covered
with 205/75R15 rubber on all 4 corners. The paint overall is good
with the bumpers suffering from a few scrapes and scuffs, and wheel
coverings are slightly curbed.
Interior
Miles of black leather cover the luxurious ultra padded wide bucket
seats in front. A leather stitched center armrest is between these
chairs. Looking forward we can see the original dash which features
some LCD readouts in their blue glow glory. Dual power mirrors,
power windows, and power locks are noted with controls on the door
panels which are also wrapped in black leather, and just a touch of
wood applique . A fuel economy center and climate control are set
into the burl wood dash framed in padded leather. A GM Symphony
Sound AM/FM/Cassette radio is the original factory radio. The
headliner, back wide leather black bench, and all carpet appear in
good condition with little to no markings on all three
surfaces.
Drivetrain
The 4.9 Liter V8 fits snugly under the hood and appears clean.
Electronic fuel injection feeds the engine, and it puts power back
to a 4-speed automatic 4T60E transmission. The front axle weighs in
at 2.73. The engine shows slight patina and light corrosion on cast
parts.
Undercarriage
Some patina, little surface rust, and all clear underneath
structurally are noted up on the lift. Floor pans, door jambs,
rockers and fenders appear rust free. Power disc brakes in front,
and power drum brakes on the rear can be seen. Suspension is all
independent.
Drive-Ability
Slipping inside with the black leather I was looking for the TV
remote control but then I realized I needed the key! With which I
fired it up and off to the test track I went. The car rode
smoothly, accelerated as it should and handled like a nimble
smaller car. The driver's power door lock is non functional from
theswitch and the AC may need to be charged.
A clean, overall good condition car ready to drive away from
Classic Auto Mall, and have more miles of luxury enjoyment put on
it. All the while a smile on your face and Caddy luxury with the
thought of those who know...know.
