This 1973 Ford F-250 Highboy is an XLT Ranger. These Highboy trucks
are very scarce. This one is a very solid and clean, mostly
original truck from the Pacific NW. This truck has a lot going for
it: it is a real Highboy, it is an XLT, it is a Ranger, it is an
Automatic, and it is an AC truck. We rarely find them like this
anymore and to be able to sell at this price point is becoming a
thing of the past. The body on this truck is clean and straight.
The paint appears to be all original with the exception of roof and
hood. The original Mallard Green paint is in surprisingly great
original condition and shows a little patina. This truck has all of
the extra chrome and moldings that came with the trim package from
the factory and they are still in great condition. The truck just
has a great look!! The underside of this rig is clean and solid
showing only the normal surface rust on bare metal parts. The bed
was lined years ago and still looks good.
The interior is almost all original with the exception of the seat
which was professionally reupholstered. The deluxe door panels,
dash, dash bezel, carpet, and headliner all appear to be original
and are still in really good condition. The headlights, taillights,
brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work.
The windshield wipers work. The heat is working, but the AC is not
blowing cold. The horn is also not working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives great!
Everything looks original and stock, like it would have from the
factory, but it runs and drives really nice. The engine is believed
to be the original 5.9L V8 that runs strong with no issues or red
flags that we found. It is all stock with the exception of a
different intake with a 4 Barrel Carb. The transmission is the C6
Automatic that shifts nice and it is mated to the np205 transfer
case. The 4WD works like it should. It has the Dana 60 rear axle
with 4.10 gears and a factory limited slip. The front axle is a
Dana 44 with 4.10 gears. This truck also has power steering and
power brakes. This is all sitting on a cool set of Vintage Turbine
Wheels with brand new 33 Inch Super Swamper All Terrain tires. Cool
Truck!
