culture after it was introduced for the 1964 model year. Excellent
styling, relatively tidy dimensions, and practically limitless
versatility gave the Chevelle a distinct advantage in the market.
Said versatility meant that you could order a Chevelle as an
economical commuter, a family friendly wagon, or a big block
stoplight terror. Also, though seldom mentioned in road test
reports, when ordered with the more powerful engines a 4-link rear
suspension gave Chevelles a major advantage with regards to
traction. This stunning 1969 Chevelle SS396 (13637) is a fine
example of one of the most iconic muscle cars ever produced.
Beneath the hood is the correct (BCN 3955272) 396 V8 that's been
fortified with a Holley carburetor, an Offenhauser aluminum intake
manifold, ceramic coated long tube headers, and MSD ignition.
Additional features include power steering, power front disc
brakes, Muncie 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter,
correct 12-bolt rear end with 3.55 Posi gears (KF, large ring
gear), bucket seats, console, correct Magnum 500 wheels with SS
center caps, auxiliary gauges, and a newer stereo. This jewel
sparkles top to bottom, runs and drives beautifully, and is an
excellent reminder of a happier time when cars were fun and full of
