The Bentley Continental was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in
March, 1991. Based on the Bentley Turbo R floor pan an
aerodynamically shaped 2 + 2 coupe body had been styled. The
well-proven turbocharged engine from the Bentley Turbo R had been
chosen to power what one reporter termed as a sort of "Crewe's
Missile."
The power output is from a 6.75 liter fuel injected Turbocharged
V-8 producing 426 bhp @ 4500 rpm and 650 lb. ft. of torque @ 2250
rpm. Performance is 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 145
mph.
