Ground up restoration on a clean California car. It has a binder
full of detailed restoration work. It also has a spec page with
details like what type of filters and fluids to use and what the
lug nuts should be torqued too. This is from a fussy owner to say
the least. The car lived in California for 61 years!
EXTERIOR: Clean California body was stripped down bare. I think it
fits better now than it did when it was new! All the panels are
square and flush. It's straight with no rust. Repainted it's
factory Raven Black color and it is polished like a mirror. Most of
the chrome and trim looks like new. It has the optional chrome
eyebrows over the headlights. The bumpers are originals that have
been rechromed, they're not reproduction. It also has the very rare
Ford accessory road lamps built into the front bumpers. It's a 2
topper! It is an original convertible top frame, not the cheap
aftermarket, and it has a rich black canvas in great shape. The
hardtop was restored. It's painted slick: headliner, rubber, glass
look great. The original wheels were stripped and powder coated. It
has Hankook tires and original style hubcaps.
INTERIOR: It is in excellent condition. The seat was recushioned
and upholstered. Carpets and door panels are in excellent shape.
The dash area looks beautiful. It has been upgraded with seat belts
and a retro stereo. Factory features include power windows, power
seat, a tachometer and a telescopic wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is a very clean and proper engine
compartment Completely rebuilt 292 motor and it has the dress up
kit which includes finned aluminum valve covers and chrome air
cleaner. It also features power steering. A very desirable upgraded
is the 12 volt electrical conversion including an alternator. New
wiring harness. Also upgraded aluminum radiator with a 6 blade fan,
reproduction hoses and clamps. All the components look factory new.
It's painted very neatly.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean and complete. It's neatly painted
black. It has reproduction liner kit, weather strip and tire cover.
Complete jack and spare assembly. The owner was so fussy. He has
the lug wrench Velcro in place and he put rubber grommets on it. He
also made a tool to remove the hubcaps with!
UNDERSIDE: The front-end steering and suspension was rebuilt; ball
joints, bushings, shocks power steering control valve, steering box
and pump. New rear leaf springs. The brakes were completely
rebuilt; new drums, wheel cylinders and shoes. Newer dual exhaust.
Newer fuel tank and straps. Spin on oil filter conversion.
Ford-o-matic transmission. Rebuilt and balanced drive shaft, the
rear end was serviced.
SERVICE: Repaired power window.
I am confident the new owner will be very pleased because this car
is going to treat them very well. It comes from a very meticulous
owner. There's nothing to do but enjoy it!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
