This custom Pro-Touring coupe, affectionately named "The Sting," is
a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette that has undergone an extensive
restoration, seamlessly blending the iconic lines of the Sting Ray
Corvette with contemporary luxury muscle car components. Powering
this masterpiece is a professionally crafted crate 383ci stroker
fuel-injected V8 engine, featuring Crane hydraulic roller
camshafts, a one-piece main, 4-bolt and Dart Competition aluminum
Pro-1 Platinum 72cc heads. The engine's performance is further
enhanced by a March serpentine belt, TPIs mini-Ram with Fast EFI
ECM fuel-injected system, FIC 38-pound injectors, Fast EZ
self-tuning EFI control system and an inline fuel cooler.
Additional notable features include a FAST electronic fuel pump,
MSD 8572 tach drive distributor and wires with digital multi-spark
CD ignition. The distinctive exhaust note resonates through a
custom 2.5-inch dual side exhaust with glass packing and crossover.
With its engine mated to a Keisler TKO-600/.64 5-speed transmission
and a rebuilt 4.11 posi-traction rear end with Sombrero bushings,
this Corvette offers a dynamic driving experience. The car boasts a
Borgeson power steering assembly, QA1 adjustable rear shocks,
VB&P specially valved KYB front shocks, Eaton 9-leaf 6/3
progressive rear leaf spring and Moog front springs. Ensuring
reliable stopping power, it features 4-wheel disc brakes with a
dual master, stainless lines and an e-brake. The lowered stance is
complemented by new 20-inch wheels. Externally, the Corvette is
finished in a custom mix of Stingray Red exterior paint,
accentuating the 1965 big-block hood. Inside, the Vintage Air
system, custom leather steering wheel, MrMikes reclining seats,
door insulation for a quieter ride and a rear-mounted custom sound
system contribute to the overall interior restoration. This
exceptional vehicle also comes with additional highlights that
include a chrome brake booster, chrome air-conditioning compressor,
Dewitts aluminum radiator and a chrome 120-amp alternator. The sale
