2003 Saleen S7 For Sale - Competition Package Naturally-Aspirated
427ci/625hp LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2007 Saleen S7
In August 2000 during the Monterey Historic Races, Saleen unveiled
an entirely original production vehicle that would usher in a new
era of supercar design and performance and dominate racetracks
worldwide, the Saleen S7. The S7 boasted a completely unique space
frame aluminum bespoke chassis with carbon fiber bodywork
originally developed for competition. Very much like its Ford
predecessor the original GT40, the street version of the S7 was
very much a street legal racecar with its primary design purpose to
win races. On the track, the S7R quickly earned the respect of some
of motorsport's most seasoned professionals, achieving class wins
at both the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. "The
S7 was immediately competitive in motorsports from day one, winning
over 100 professional races at the world's top racetracks including
Daytona, Nrburgring, Silverstone, Imola, Spa-Francorchamps and the
24 Hours of Le Mans" said Saleen Automotive CEO and Founder, Steve
Saleen. Powered by a mid-mounted 7.0-liter V8 was designed by
Saleen based on Ford's Windsor small block and was factory rated at
550 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. Components include an
aluminum block, CNC-machined aluminum cylinder heads, a forged
billet steel crankshaft, billet steel connecting rods, forged
pistons, beryllium exhaust valve seats, stainless-steel valves, and
titanium valve retainers. Induction is through a carbon-fiber
plenum, a magnesium throttle body, and a magnesium intake manifold
with individual runners. Additional features include a side-mounted
water pump, dual radiators with electric cooling fans, dry-sump
lubrication with dual oil coolers, and a stainless-steel quad-exit
exhaust system This example offered here for sale is one of few
fitted with the Competition 427ci naturally-aspirated 625hp engine
package. At an additional $75,000 over the base price, the package
endowed the Saleen-specific 427ci V8 engine with an uprated
camshaft, upgraded intake manifold and exhaust and reprogrammed
ECU. The original owner factory ordered his S7 in Bright Silver
with a Black leather/Grey Alcantara interior. Additionally, larger
and more comfortable custom seats were fitted and the original
seats and belts were retained, and will be included in the sale
should the new owner wish to reinstall them. Other features include
optional chromed wheels and a factory-upgraded touchscreen sound
system. With only 9,400 miles on the odometer, this example
presents extremely well having been used sparingly. With just 78
total units produced and incredible race winning pedigree the
Saleen S7 is undoubtedly one of the best Supercars produced in its
era. This example being one of only a handful equipped with the
Competition Package equipped S7's presents a rare opportunity to
own one of America's greatest supercars. Additional Details: 2003
