Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this limited production 2015
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom.
Production of the Z/28 was limited, so only 1,801 were ever built
and only 15 were white with non-AC. The 2015 Camaro Z/28 is the
most track-capable model in its history, building on the legacy of
the original SCCA Trans Am-series contender introduced in 1967.
While the new Camaro Z/28 is not intended to compete in a specific
race series, it is solely focused on track capability. In fact, its
unique exterior is designed like a race car to produce downforce
that presses the car against the track for greater grip - up to
1.08 g in cornering acceleration - and faster lap times.
The aerodynamically optimized design helped the Camaro Z/28 log a
7:37.47 lap on Germany's legendary Nrburgring road course - four
seconds faster than the Camaro ZL1, and faster than published times
for the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago
LP640.
The interior is no-frills: Standard Z/28 models come without air
conditioning (though it can be added as an option), and a spartan
audio system that includes only one speaker. A recessed speedometer
and tachometer are set in square housings, a nod to the classic
Camaro interior. Between those two big gauges is a driver
information center controlled via a stalk on the steering column.
The interior is finished with excellent leather upholstery in
black.
This latest-generation Camaro captures the look of the original
'67, though it's bigger in every dimension: longer, wider, and
taller. For 2014, changes include a new front fascia with a lower,
wider front grille and new headlights. The shapely strong hips
stand out, like the long hood, an edgy element the designer is most
proud of, because they took so much work. The rigid B-pillar is
blacked-out, thus creating a clean outline for the side glass,
blending into a handsome hardtop roofline. The short rear deck
climbs upward and looks great.
Pumping the power is GMs naturally aspirated 7.0-liter LS7 V8 with
505-horsepower and 481 lb-ft. of torque, and you have no problems
hearing it outside and inside. The LS7 sends that power through a
Tremec TR6060 6-Speed manual and spent gasses through an active
2-mode exhaust with high-flow converter. The LS7 was bred on the
racetrack, with features designed for the high-rpm environment of
the track, including a durable forged-steel crankshaft, lightweight
titanium connecting rods and high-flow cylinder heads with
lightweight titanium intake valves. It also features a racing-style
dry-sump oiling system that helps ensure adequate oil pressure
during high-load cornering.
