Here we have a retro version of an LS swapped Mazda Miata... Or
perhaps a poor man's AC Cobra... At some point in the 1965 Triumph
Spitfire's life someone decided to add a tilt front end to it so
the could cram a V8 into this thing. Which V8? Why not a light
one!? They chose a 300 CID Buick Lightweight V8 from a 1964
Wildcat/Skylark. Incredibly, these powerful engines weigh less than
500lbs full of fluids with accessories mounted thanks to an all
aluminum top end. An automatic transmission and positraction round
out the rest of the drivetrain and these 185 tires have a difficult
time putting the power down to the pavement. The builder didn't tub
it with a 4 link or anything, sticking with the motto "traction is
the cheapest thing you can break". It's got a brand new battery and
Holley carburetor to ensure the next driver some easy years ahead.
The interior is simplistic with leather tilting race seats, a roll
bar, a GPS powered speedometer, and some retro Stewart Warner
analog gauges. There is a rollbar under the black padding, but
hopefully you never need it. A snap on top is in the trunk for
rainy days, but with the little traction it gets when things are
dry... this may be more of a fair weather beast. Financing is easy
and trades are welcome. Call, click, or come by today!
