Mercedes roadsters exported to the US came in many configurations
over the years. Back in mid-80s, Mercedes got everything right with
their 560SL, offering essentially bulletproof reliability,
satisfying power and aggressive good looks. The 560SL combined all
that Mercedes had learned into a cultural icon that quietly and
confidently told the world its occupants had 'arrived'. This
original 1988 560SL roadster has been carefully maintained by the
current owner for the last 30 years and is in exceptional
condition. (Comprehensive records are included with the car.) The
factory Astral Silver Metallic finish is outstanding, as is the
Burgundy leather interior. This is a very inviting cockpit with
burlwood accents, climate control A/C, Panasonic AM/FM/CD sound
system, power tinted windows/locks/mirrors and cruise. Horsepower
is furnished by a 5.6-liter SOHC V-8 w/Bosch injection that
delivers 227bhp-279 lb/ft to a four-speed automatic gearbox. The
560SL has power steering, fully independent suspension and 4-wheel
ABS power disc brakes. Classic MB factory wheels mount new
BFGoodrich radial tires. The 560SL comes with two tops - a manually
operated soft top and optional hardtop, along with a cover for the
car.. The owner has also included a storage rack and cover for the
hardtop when not in service. Look at the photos again, judge for
yourself. This is an excellent 560SL that will not be here long.
