Vehicle Description
This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer underwent a professional, true
nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration by Z's Radical Rods. It is
powered by a new GM Connect & Cruise direct-injected Gen 5 LT1 V8
engine producing 460hp and 465 ft/lbs of torque. This engine is
paired with a new GM 4L70E transmission and an NP205 transfer case.
The rear is a new Dana 60 axle assembly from Moser with 4.10 ratio
gears and a Detroit Locker that is 3 inches wider than stock to
give it the same width as the front. The engine has a CVF
front-runner serpentine belt system. To keep the engine cool it has
a Griffin radiator and dual 16-inch fans. The Dana 44 axle in the
front has been completely rebuilt with new 4.10 ratio gears. The
chassis was custom-built with 3/16 tubing and off-road design
suspension with 10-inch travel King coilovers up front and 8-inch
travel King coilovers in the rear for a true 4-inch suspension
lift. The front and rear 4-link is completely adjustable. It has
King bump-stops in the front and the rear, with front and rear sway
bars and cross steering for that nice ride and handling. The
chassis was powder-coated Satin Black and the bottom was painted
satin for that clean and durable look. For stopping power, it has
4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and hydro-boost with a Wilwood master
cylinder. It sits on 17x9 KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels wrapped
in 315/70R17 Nitto tires. It is also equipped with automatic
electric power AMP running boards with lights. The two-tone PPG
paint accentuates the attention to detail on every curve and body
gap on this Blazer. Every part of the body was stripped and epoxied
before any work was done for the best corrosion protection. The
body was completely sanded and polished before final assembly. It
also features a Vintage Air system, Dakota Digital gauges, power
windows, a quick-removable rear seat, power left front seat, tilt
steering, bear claw latches, custom roll bar and all LED lights
inside and out, as well as a hidden fuel door behind the taillight.
It has a Kenwood double-DIN stereo with Apple CarPlay, backup
camera and 900-watt JL Audio amp to power the two JBL subwoofers
and six Focal speakers. The single-wall top has been completely
redone with new glass and the inside was painted to match the
interior. The custom panels and painted dash match the seats. A
full stainless-steel exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers
provides those awesome sounds, and the inside was completely
wrapped in soundproofing to keep the noise down on the inside. It
includes all manuals and documents of the build, which has just
over 200 miles since completion.
