Vehicle Description
This custom 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is the recipient of a
frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration. Powered by an all-new,
all-aluminum 6.2-liter GM Performance Connect & Cruise LT1 engine
with 460hp and 465 ft/lbs of torque, mated to a crate 4L70E
transmission. The LT1 engine breathes through a 2.5-inch Flowmaster
exhaust and is cooled with an oversized all-aluminum radiator with
dual fans. A red-top Optima battery keeps the truck powered. The
chassis has been completely torn down, sandblasted and painted,
with all-new body bushing, seals, gaskets and bearings, as well as
fasteners. The Blazer features a CPP tilt column with a Sure-Grip
steering wheel, factory-style gauge bezel with Dakota Digital
gauges that communicate directly with the GM computer for accurate
readings. The Blazer retains the factory NP205 transfer case with
an advanced intermediary adapter. The serpentine system has been
upgraded with an all-black billet CVF Racing drive system. The oil
pan has been upgraded to a low-profile Holley pan to give more
ground clearance. The engine is dressed in paint-matched modified
factory covers. The fuel tank is a handcrafted aluminum tank by
Boyd and the fuel is supplied to the engine with a factory PWM GM
fuel pump. The suspension features a 4-inch Fox Shock lift with
external reservoirs mounted on the frame and a matching set of Fox
steering stabilizers. The brakes are powered by a Wilwood master
cylinder with 4-wheel disc Wilwood brakes on all four corners. This
Blazer rides on 17-inch Raceline beadlock wheels wrapped in TIS
mud-terrain tires. The interior of the truck features fully custom
bolstered seats with tweed inserts, with matching door panels and
custom rear panels. The carpet is German square-weave with a rear
subfloor completely silenced with sound-dampening Kilmat. The cabin
is heated and cooled by a new Vintage Air system. The audio system
is controlled by a modern vintage-style two-knob all-digital radio
with speakers in the kick panels. The body is finished off in a
Taupe paint featuring a full custom bead-rolled firewall, and lower
and upper MAR-K trim with all-new factory-style glass and rubber.
The doors close with ease with Altman bear-claw latches and custom
striker plates. The underside of the truck is fully painted to
match the finish in top of the truck; no liners or undercoating was
used on any part of the Blazer. The single-wall top is finished in
Satin White with a matching hatch and gas struts.
